Job Opportunity With Nautilus Labs Inc. (New York, NY)

Nautilus is revolutionizing global maritime operations. This is a critical, often forgotten step in preserving/reversing effects of worldwide pollution moving forward.

The maritime industry is historic and still built largely upon strong personal business relationships. While Nautilus Platform delivers clear business value to each of our clients based upon verifiable cost-savings that produce strong ROI, we will always be focused on forging strong, long-lasting, and trusted relationships within the industry domestically and globally.

To that end, we are seeking an individual to help spearhead our business development efforts in NYC and the US. This means being a rockstar individual contributor, who will work tirelessly to ensure that we’re closely connected to maritime trade groups, events, and partners locally in NYC, and around the US. Long-term, this means having the passion and desire to help us build the business development engine globally, and having the aspiration to coach up and support new members of the business development team as we grow.

Specifically, the role will focus on cultivating relationships with new potential clients and partners through curated outreach, attending networking events and joining membership associations, and broadly cultivating ecosystem development. You will have clear KPIs focused on initiating prospective client relationships, and you will work closely with a senior sales team member to bring new clients onto Nautilus Platform. Specifically, you will focus on:

Targeted and Personalized Outreach

  • Generate lists of potential clients and associated key contacts 
  • Develop curated and customized outreach cadences 
  • Work with our Marketing team to build and share high-value content 
  • Generate meetings for the Sales team to engage new prospective clients 
  • Support sales cycles as needed with prospective clients

Event and Membership Organization Engagement

  • Build and maintain a list of all key industry events and membership organizations 
  • Support our participation in these organizations and attendance at these events 
  • Work with our Marketing team to support tabling events and trade shows 
  • Leverage these channels to identify new prospective clients for Nautilus Labs 
  • Educate the broader Nautilus team on any relevant information gathered

Ecosystem Partnership Development

  • Build and maintain a list of potential third party Nautilus Ecosystem partners 
  • Identify key contacts, then develop curated and customized outreach cadences 
  • Support business development cycles as needed with prospective partners 
  • Apply learnings about successful engagement models to increase adoption 
  • Identify new potential engagement models for Nautilus and third-party partners



  • 2+ years of experience in Business Development and/or Sales
  • Prior experience and deep belief in data-driven sales methodologies
  • Interested in and adept at rapidly learning about a new industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to generate client-facing content and dialogue
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to get Nautilus in front of new prospective clients and partners
  • Ability to travel domestically and globally (10 - 20%) to attend events
  • Results-driven strategic thinker who is able to thrive in an unstructured and fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience cold prospecting as an SDR, BDR, and/or AE
  • Passionate about our mission and in changing the way a massive industry works
  • Personable, collaborative, thoughtful, empathetic, tenacious, with a good sense of humor


  • Strong acumen for building and improving both externally-facing and internal processes
  • Prior experience (2+ years) working at early-stage or growth-stage startups
  • Prior experience (2+ years) in SaaS and selling analytics tools
  • Prior experience (2+ years) working in the maritime industry with ship owner-operating companies
